Beghelli confirms itself as a Sustainability Leader also for 2024. This year too, the recognition by Il Sole 24 Ore of including the company in the list of the 200 most sustainable large Italian companies has arrived. Now in its fourth edition, the Sustainability Leader Report is the result of a collaboration between Il Sole 24 Ore and the German company Statista, which collected and analyzed the data of large and medium-small companies in 25 sectors. To identify companies that stand out for their sustainable and responsible practices, 45 quantitative and qualitative performance indicators were considered. Out of 490 companies that applied and reached the final stage, the 2024 Report awarded 200 large companies and 40 medium-small companies.
“An important recognition that unites us with large companies in the industrial panorama and not only in Italy in the commitment to pursuing sustainability objectives. We are convinced that the emergency of the current climate crisis, the objectives of the European Green Deal and the ever-increasing attention of consumers towards sustainable products with a lower energy impact attribute to companies a fundamental strategic role in improving people's lives and the environment, in the present and in the future”
says Luca Beghelli, Marketing and Communications Director of the Beghelli Group.
The point of view of Beghelli top management: we produce sustainability
Energy efficiency and solar energy storage systems are key aspects of our Sustainability Report, we focus on these two markets, both for their great topicality and perspective and for the contribution they make to the fight against climate change. For us, being environmentally sustainable does not only mean producing and working respecting the environment but also offering innovative products and services that allow us to reduce energy consumption and the use of fossil fuels, and therefore emissions. Since 2006, Beghelli Servizi has been offering integrated services for the implementation and management of interventions to reduce primary energy consumption in industrial, tertiary and public building lighting, allowing energy savings that can reach up to over 90%. In 2022, the company entered the renewable energy market with Sole di Casa Beghelli, a range of products for solar energy storage that allows us to optimize the electricity produced by photovoltaic panels, allowing energy savings on bills and protecting consumers and companies from continuous increases in energy prices. Our offering of products and services is developed in key sectors such as lighting, energy efficiency and renewable energy, segments of fundamental importance, not only from an economic point of view, but also to improve people's lives and protect the environment.
PRODUCTION PLANTS WITH LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
The production plants of Beghelli S.p.A. have been developed and improved over the years, always with an eco-sustainable approach.
In recent years, the Italian production sites have undergone continuous transformations to streamline their technological aspects, but always with a view to energy saving and low impact on the territory. The manufacturing of Beghelli products is carried out using mostly green energy from photovoltaics and for the lighting of the plants, low energy consumption devices have been installed that integrate the now well-known Smart Driver Beghelli (SD) technology with control of light emission based on the contribution of natural light and with the application of building automation systems for the automatic activation of the devices.
Our photovoltaic systems:
- Monteveglio (BO) - 474,788Wp photovoltaic system
- Savigno (BO) - 199,470Wp photovoltaic system
- Pievepelago (MO) - 287,760Wp photovoltaic system
NEW ECO-SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
Using eco-sustainable packaging has two primary functions: it allows you to contribute to safeguarding the planet and raises consumer awareness on a topic that must be known to everyone. To this end, Beghelli has completely revisited its packaging, using recycled cardboard from boxes from the FSC supply chain, i.e. made with materials derived from controlled repopulation forests. To minimize variants, and therefore batch quantities that lead to stock or waste, the graphics of the boxes have been standardized, simply divided into lighting and emergency. The product information is however summarized on a label that, in addition to the minimum required data, also includes an identifying design and the specific QR code to access the electronic catalog page relating to the product.
DIGITAL SUSTAINABILITY
The web also pollutes. According to the Global Carbon Project, in 2020 the Internet was the 4th country in the world for CO2 emissions. This is due to the fossil fuels used to produce energy for data centers, servers and every technological means useful for the functioning of the Internet. When we think of the factors that contribute to climate change, browsing the Internet is probably not the first thing that comes to mind but in reality every online activity requires energy, thus contributing to our carbon footprint.
The architecture of the Beghelli website is created also paying attention to the theme of the eco-sustainability of the project. For this purpose, in the programming of the structure and operation of the site, consumption optimization tools and techniques are used, the result of which is a limited impact of the web pages in terms of CO2 emissions.
SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
The sustainability report is a strategic tool that allows us to transparently communicate our environmental, social and economic performance. It represents a key document for evaluating the impact of our business activities and promoting our corporate social responsibility.
