Beghelli was founded in 1982 by Gian Pietro Beghelli who set up a company that designs, produces and distributes professional technical lighting equipment.
In just a few years, it became the Italian leader in the emergency lighting sector and also produced electronic systems for home automation and industrial and domestic safety, combining products and services.
In 2025 an important new chapter marks the company's history as it becomes part of the GRUPPO GEWISS, an Italian multinational founded by Domenico Bosatelli in 1970, a reference point in the international market for home & building automation, energy protection and distribution, electric mobility and intelligent lighting solutions and services.
Thus, two groups with solid Italian roots that share the same values of integrity, excellence and sustainability have joined forces to give life to a new project that allows both to consolidate the group's position as a point of reference for the electrotechnical, electrical and digital sectors, enhancing the know-how and experience of both.
In this context, the launch of GEWISS LightZone takes shape — the new lighting hub that brings together the expertise of Beghelli, Performance iN Lighting, and Tvilight within a cohesive ecosystem, with the aim of delivering a comprehensive and integrated vision.
Research activity is a fundamental point for Beghelli and the Gewiss Group, who reserve considerable investments to develop technologically innovative products, both in terms of functionality and design. All this takes place within the company's laboratories and experimental centres that carry out the design, engineering, testing and certification of products.
The production activity is mainly carried out by Group companies, allowing control of the production cycle and, consequently, the ability to reduce the time needed to launch new products on the market, once the designs have been approved.
Electronic circuits and high value-added products are manufactured in Italy by a production unit created following the vertical integration strategy that Beghelli is implementing.
